Dubaj, volně přeloženo jako "místo srazu" je dalším ze sedmi emirátů ve Spojených arabských emirátech. Je druhým největším a nejlidnatějším emirátem, hned po emirátu Abú Dhabí, se svou celkovou rozlohou 4 114 km² a 2,6 mil. obyvateli. Leží na Arabském poloostrově v Perském zálivu. Vládcem Dubaje je šajch Mohammed bin Rašíd Al Maktoum, který je víceprezidentem a premiérem SAE ( hlavou státu je emír Abú Dhabí). Hlavním centrem emirátu je město Dubaj. Město má dobře vybudovanou a hustou dopravní síť, moderní silnice a dálnice. V Dubaji je také neobvyklé složení obyvatelstva, které je tvořeno hlavně přistěhovalci (zhruba 85 %), občané SAE jsou tedy menšinou. Největší část emirátu zabírá poušť, avšak je zde spoustu krásných pláží, které jsou tvořené bílým jemným pískem, moře je azurové. Neznámější pláží je Jumeirah Beach, u které stojí ty nejvíce luxusní hotely světa. Místní moře je potápěčským rájem. Dubaj je však také emirátem plným kontrastů - velbloudi, pouště a tržiště se doplňují s vysokými budovami, nákupními centry a zábavními středisky. Jedná se zároveň o nejtolerantnější emirát.
